This charming halter Dress (circa 1949 is based on a gown by American designer Claire McCardell. The dress as shown is made in a whimsical vintage fabric. Your can make yours in anything from summery cotton prints to luxurious silk or velvet in lenghts from floor to thigh high. Bare shoulders are beautiful whether broad or narrow, bony or amply padded, so don't be shy (but if you're still not convinced, this dress also looks great with a short bolero jacket). Side zip, on-seam pockets. Fastens with hooks and eyes at the back of the neck.
