Wams (undergarment) and Schaube (coat) were fashionable items of menswear around 1500-1530. Both garments were worn by bourgeoisie and gentry, indicating a high social position. The pattern includes the Wams, a snug fitting garment, always worn with a shirt underneath (not included), closing at the front with either hooks and eyes or lacing. The Schaube, a kind of cloak with long hanging sleeves and arm slits, was usually worn over the Wams.
