The princess cut reception gown is deceivingly simple. The complicated construction is due to the Valencienne lace overlay being encrusted with heavy needlework lace below the knees, large silk embroidery, appliques at the waist, sleeves and skirt and organza trim at the neck, wrist and hem.
The petticoat/lining of silk taffeta is attached at the waist and back edges. The skirt hem is finished with several rows of ruffles.
It fastens up the back with hooks and eyes.
Pattern is multi-size 10 to 16. Sizes 10-12 uses 5-1/3 Yds., 14 uses 5-1/2 Yds., 16 uses 5-2/3 Yds. of bottom weight silk taffeta for the petticoat/lining. It is preferred that you wait for the pattern to purchase the lace overlay, organza and trims.
