This Ladies' Home Journal pattern published under the brand name of the Home Pattern Company describes the dress as a Misses' Sailor Suit: A long shouldered blouse to slip on over the heard, with shield, sailor collar, and full-length sleeve plaited in cuff effect: nine-gored skirt, the front gore in panel effect, and with a backward-turning side-plait at each seam. To be made with or without applied yoke on blouse and skirt. Written instructions only. Pattern dates to circa 1914.
