This pattern was published by The Butterick Pattern Company. Originally the pattern was described as "Ladies' one-piece bathing-suit, with round or pointed neck, to be slipped over the head and buttoned on the shoulder, with or without the applied plaits in Norfolk style, yoke-facing or belt or sash at empire or lower waistline." Minimal directions. Pattern dates circa 1922.
Suggested fabrics: Bathing-suits were made of sateen, wool, all-wool worsted, and heavy sateen. The colors were black, navy blue, and heather.
