This pattern was published by The Butterick Pattern Company. Originally the pattern was described as "Ladies' and Misses' Coat. Hip pockets and cuffed sleeves, linked button closure, hits at hip, rolled over collar." Detailed illustrated directions. Pattern dates circa 1928-1929.
Suggested fabrics: Coats were made of fancy tweed, wool broadcloth, wool broadloom, wool repbloom, Celanese moire. The colors were tan, black, burgundy, light green, light navy blue, and navy blue.
