This elbow length cape was seen throughout the 1890's as the basic wrap of the times. It is cut in the Military style, also known as the 3/4 Cape. It can be cut with a straight or scalloped hem. The reveres at the center front are optional. The collar is the stand-with-flair style, with wires to support the shape. The lining fabric is seen at the inside collar and optional reveres. This pattern provides for a fully lined cape, and it can be interlined with flannel for warmth. The closure can be cloak clasps, coat hooks, or frogs, as desired. All sizes included in the package.

When I saw this cape pattern, I decided it would be a perfect fit for our historic site. It is a simple pattern, easy to follow, quick to make, and great to wear. While the pattern called for wire to be inserted into the under collar, I chose not to use it and the results still were great. The first cape has impressed our staff and I will be making more for staff for an upcoming event.
